Default Focus ST Noise

Hi I've got an Orange ST3 & I've noticed a strange noise that sounds like a spring releasing just after you pull away, just wondered if anyone else had noticed the same thing as it's apparently normal, it's the ABS unit testing itself says my local ford garage

well, if thats the case, tell them its obviously faulty as it should do it QUIETLY !

dont take any crap off of them, gently remind them how much money you have just parted with

Well my car has been with them everyday this week for the problems that I have with it, they see the car more than I do!! but your right I've spent alot of money on it & I dont want any noises. If it is normal try not to listen out for it cuz once you hear it it's quite worrying!

go to another dealer, find one of thier service guys and just say "can you tell me what this noise is"? and see what he says, if he just says yeah its normal, then fair play, but if he identifies a problem, then its good confirmation. obviously dont mention anything about your dealer before hand as it may colour his judgement.

I have posted the same question on stownersclub.com and have been assured that the noise is normal, but I think I might take it to another dealer just to be sure as it is quite loud!! Thanks for the advice

Ive had this on both my Zafira Gsi Turbo and my current vectra Sri, Its just the abs sorting its self out...

Come to think of it it did it on the Foci St I took on a test drive not so long ago.

It is normal fella dont worry about it.

Thanks Darren, I have now taken another Foci out & it does make the same noise so I'm convinced it is normal now

Just need them to sort my gearbox out next!

Cheers all,

Claire

The noise is a check system for the A.B.S.

John

p.s. if you want a more in depth answer, Ill go and see the brakes engineers at work.
