Default Fitting a boost gauge into a saph 4x4

Bought a boost gauge that fits in the centre console (where the doors show as open etc). Tested it at the engine end and everything works fine but when i went to fit it properly in the car the cable couldnt reach. Now im not very technically minded but the only place i could see to put it through was the steering column. The guy i bought it off ebay said in the advert he had took it straight out of the car ? Am i missing somewhere else that it can go through ? The cable is only about 1.5m long and im sure it supposed to be kept out of the way of the engine & turbo due to thge heat ? Look forward to hearing back from you peeps

Cable? Is it an electronic boost gauge or one that works via a pipe off the plenum?
Either way the usual route is through the rubber bung thing that the ecu etc wires go through underneath the battery tray and into the car beneath the glove box! A metre and a half should be enough if not extend it

quite hard to get thru that bung tho... what i personally used to do is put a coathanger (unbent) thru the hole from the enginebay and let it poke ut the ECU cover... then tape the wire/ipe you wanna put thru onto the coathanger, n pull the coathanger back thru...

easier (imho) that sticking your arm right up inside the dashboard
