t5 rebuild
alright folks,wonder if any of u guys can give me any advice onre building my 2wd cossie gearbox???....have priced exchange boxes and out right buys from gearboxman and ismore than i was expecting to pay!..have noticed rebuld kits are available for a reasonable price on ebay.just wondering if its a mare of a job or is not to bad?..she is tight in 1st and 3rd..

yep, done one a couple of months back
you can download the rebuild manual off t'internet, get a rebuild kit (i got the full on kit including synchro rings and bearings and everything from gearboxman) and off you go.
the only difficult bit is removing 5th driven gear (the smaller one of the 2 shown in picture 3 below). you need a very long puller with very thin jaws. i made one, but have since seen similar ones for sale from www.cromwell.co.uk
something like these, but a good one will not be cheap.


i would recomend stripping it as far as 5th driven gear, then taking it to gearboxman or someone else to remove that for you, and then do the rest
