dont you have to have a pectel board or similar to run WI?

ie it doesnt just run off the std ECU?

 

I think you will find you are wrong Dave and btw i don't have a standard ecu

I cant help thinking that it is better to run the water injection from the SECS monitor (only if you have one - obviousely ), for a start it is easy to adjust/set up, and you get a "run" indication for the pump.

Also, it is easy to test if the installation is actualy working by connecting temporary a spare jet poking through the bonnet vent, then lower the pump run point - say 18 PSI boost with 12 ° charge temp, then take the car on a run and observe for a nice spray of water

Doug i binned off my SECs monitor so that is not an option!
When this engine/ecu were in the rally car a wire from the ecu/loom was used to trip the water injection and i just want to make sure i connect the right one!
Can anyone confirm what Dingy has said???

Thats not entirely fair spadge.Just coz u dont get an answer as quickly as u want, doesnt mean that we are kids that know fuck all. If u wanted an answer so quickly why didnt u get off ur arse and phone Stu, Karl, Mark Shead or any one of the other tuners that use this forumn. Just coz we dont know an answer to a particular problem doesnt mean we know fook all.

 

And you did have the correct answer from Steve in 32mins and written pictorial confirmation only 2hrs 58mins later which i think is pretty damn fooking good for the free information superhighway

3door's loom is connected to that management light on dashboard too....

best alter that or it will come on at 40 degrees

I did not say everyone was a kid i just pointed out that a lot of the knowledgable people that used to be on here don't seem to be around much anymore but there are a lot of kids talking bollox all over the place

Stu i had no assurance that Steve's answer was correct as he didn't sound 100% sure himself so i therefore required a more definate answer which true i did get from Kev but only after i had retreived this thread from half way down the second page with my above reply!

ok spadge, but if u require such a quick answer then call one of the tuners who im sure will help. It will be a lot quikcer than sitting around moaning coz there arent enuff knowledgable people on line and suggesting that they have been replace with kids that know fuck all.

P8 has many features other ecu's don't so it could be different, so ure right i was not 100%
