this a 270 or 360??

i'd say 270 but 360 had been mentioned




gonna buy a rebuild kit ya see and need to know if a std 1 will do

 

thats a 360.

They dont normally wear that bad (thrust bearin)

U wont get a 360 as part of a kit - u'll need to buy it seperate.

Have a look at the shaft too. If it's blackned it's probably past rebuild time.

 

sod no rebuild for this then, Ł40 ill give it a go Ł130 and it'll sit in the bin

i dont think its worn just loads of play in the bearings (think i can get away with a bearing kit and leave teh thrust bearin?)
there was tons of play but blokereconned it wernt smokin

may just list the seperate parts of the turbo on ebay cos all the threads were spot on and it werent actually very old either

 

If theres play in the shaft then something has to be worn, be worth checkinf the hole in the front alloy plate, if theres play that could of enlarged and thats what the front oil seal lives in aswell.

Are the bearings very loose on the shaft in the places they run, bear in mind there will always be a little play as they are wet floating bearings, but not too much.
