Morning guys, removing s2 kit
looo!!
i've gotta remove a small part of the kit to allow access to get some welding done, couple on arch are rivets so can be drilled out, but what about the screws on the flat part under door. Any ideas on getting these out?
Perhaps drill out again, or hit a crosshead into the screw with a hammer?
any ideas greatfully received.

ive never had to remove an RST kit but, if its rivveted on then you can just drill thatem out no probs.. im not sure about how your gonna get the screws off underneath though.. i imagine if you cant just 'undo' them then your only option is going to be to drill them out.
Drill a hole into top of screw about 4mm i think. This will drill out the screw itself and the head drops off when drill removed. Use slightly larger sef tapping screws when refixing

loverly straight lines mate
love that car sweet as
Stu, the screws under the side skirts are machined and screw into rivnuts mate, best thing would be to soak em in wd40 (or summat better) then try n undo em, BUT chances are they are rusted in, so as Lee suggested you could try drilling them, though do it VERY VERY slowly, as soon as you put a bit oof speed on it the rivnut will turn with the screw and drill, in the sill mate, which will in turn just melt through the skirts... I was lucky with Tony's some came out no prob, some a drilled a couple I was able to grind the top off the screw then bang the rivnut in and replace after painting...
Best to use the proper Ford Rivets, as these are plastic coated and will prevent corrosion when repainted/reriveted in place...
