Default S2 suspension Question

Ok call me a old fooker but now im used to the comforts of newer cars, i find the jamex suspension lwered 20mm rather harsh. I wont be tracking the car, so do i REALLY need sports suspension? Its my everyday driver so id like a tad of comfort!!!

Anyone been in a standard RST suspensioned car? Is it comfy? And, would it look too high even with 17's on?

Yes, it would look too high IMO. There really isn't any way to make it any more comfortable. There may be a spring/damper combination that will be slightly better, but I reckon the difference will be negligable.

The only way to make it more comfortable is to install Airbag suspension, but thats going MILES to far for what you want I reckon.

Best to sell the S2 and buy a Mondeo.

It's impossible to get an S2 to ride smoothly. Best try lowered, but not progressively wound springs, and Monroe Gas dampers. Won't handle too well, but it'll take the bumps a bit better!

LOL it does look propper high in your sig!

as regards to 'sports susp' its gonna be very dificult to get a smooth ride in an RST they really are just rattly.. esp when lowered with Koni/spax/whatever.
You could just lower it using new standard suspension.. my mate did this about 6 months ago.. it certainly isnt anywhere near as bumpy as mine.. but it is a LOT more whallowy round corners (it looks like hes 'floating' round!)

koni's on my s2 with -40mm Pi Springs was absolutely awesome, granted it was caged and bushed, but i left the koni's on completely soft, and it was the best s2 for smoothness and handling i've been in.

Granted i didnt through it round the track to find out how well it would fair on there, but as you say its not going on the track.

Granted it was firmer than standard, but no wear near harsh.

I've got an idea for you anyway, why don't you just add a bit more cushioning to your booster seat............should sort it out a treat PLUS people will actually think your normal size! or near enough
