Default Headgasket for 375 Bhp Escort

What headgasket for 375 Bhp cosworth and what bolts?? It's supposed to run 2 bar boost! It will have and 50 bhp shot of nos!

i would use a gen wrc headgasket with standard head bolts

Mountune 4 Layer WRC HeadGasket, Expensive but worth ever penny.

Standard FORD head bolts

Cometic Gaskets have been getting a slating at the moment as a few people including me have had Damaged ones from the factory and have damaged some engines...............steer well clear.

Good advice above....

But IF you were on a tight budget, and could be in a situation where you may want to remove the head to check on condition (especially with NOS fitted)...i.e. check fir signs if detting.wear etc, then I would "O" ring the bock (can be done in situ) and use the cheap as chips late Escort Cossie head gasket YB1261 (I think that is the part number)...............I only say this because if you take off the head when a WRC gasket is fitted you've blown £ 280.00

With wire rings fitted the cost of replacing then and fitting a new late Es Cos gasket is aboutt £ 28.00 - 34.00 total

Thank's guys,and is the 3 layer headgasket good enough or it should be 4 layer at all costs???

Well, thats even more reason to go the "O" ring route, as you only pay for the machining of the grooves ONCE....Then, no matter how many you remove the head you are quids in everytime!

About 4 months ago, PJ Motorsport were selling those late Es Cos gaskets for £ 4.98 on special offer
