How to fit a dump valve to an escort rs turbo

Not sure what I’m doing what vacuum hose do I need and what size T-piece , I tried to use one from a boost gauge and it didn’t work

Also what pipe on top of the inlet do I use....rely am lost tried connoting it to ecu pipe and car just stalls
The D/valve did come from a ERST, its a bailey item.....not sure if its twin or single, but I herd it on the car just cant remember how it was fitted, On my inlet on the right had side the pipe runs to the ECU????? If you’re looking at it from the front, (head lights)

Rely having problems here is a pic of the DV

right, i think dump valves are crap, but the guys asking how to fit one, not what all of uslot think so.......

Obviously fit the dump valve into the boost hose, then run the vacuum pipe from the dump valve and 'T' it into the vacuum pipe that runs to the ECU. Make sure that everythings tight(no air leaks) and if the car stalls, then the dump valve is stuck open, allowing un-metered air to enter the system, causing the car to stall. hope thats some help
Oh and if you need some T-pieces, go and get some from Halfords, theyre all next to the window washer pumps and hose

Among the many crimes i have commited, i do admit to having a DV at present. RS's are better without them, but if you like it then heres a little picture of how mine is piped up

You will also need a metal T piece to go into the top boost hose between the intercooler and the charge carrier.

Just a quickie marky g looking at your sig it says you want a swirl pot. You do know the car has a swirl pot built into the thermostat housing on your S2?

Lincolndanny - think u may be right it may be stuck open is it open when as in the pic u cant see throught it (looks closed i'd of thought)

And on a whole i just wanna see what it sounds like. i hate the fookin sounds its a 90's chav thing!!!!!!!! but Curiosity is a mother fuker!!!!

i have a sfs hose with it exit for it and i have a DV jst hanging around doin nothing just thought i'd try it.

I've herd so many arguments on so many sides about not fitting a DV it'll run shit, Fit one it'll make ur turbo last longer just dunno what to belive

Take a picture of the big connection on the DV, i can soon tell you if its a twin piston or not.

Did my engine bay piccy not help you with how the pipe connects up?

Here's a step by step guide to fitting a Bailey pishton dump valve to an Escort RS Turbo.

1. Read you haynes manual. After reading your haynes manual do the first thing it says and disconnect the car battery incase you get an electric shock from the boost hoses, which may be live
2. Open the packaging on your shiny new Bailey dump vlave. Read instructions fully. Then re read your instructions.
3. Find a suitable container for waste products, such as a bin.
4. Place all packaging in container.

5. Now stop fucking about and throw the stupid fucking 'dump' valve on top of the packaging into the fucking bin!!

single piston have the top outlet at 90 deg i think, doubles are straight out the top

urs wont work without a bleedvalve (set rite) in the vacume if it is single piston

Or you could buy yourself a nice shiny crossover pipe off ebay and just sink it into the ready made hole??

If you aint had a dump valve get one, it all adds to the effect. All these guys are too old to remember what their first spin in a dump valved car felt like.

marky_g the size or shape of the connection in the top bears no relevance, get that picture looking into the open end of the DV and i can tell you if its twin piston or not

Want my advice fucking bin the stupid dumpvalve they are a fucking disaster and shite...ecu stay away from..the car wont run right and potentially lead to detination which i had the misfortune of finding out....if u like the noise splash out on a stage 3 turbo & 31 actuator..it's a purer noise of just shear power...dump valve are for tossers in their glanza.....
