bleedin frenchies
story - was minding my own business on a stretch of dual carriage way, and in my rear view mirror i saw a young lad in a saxo giving it all to catch me up (didnt think kids knew about rs turbos now
), so he over takes me but then the lights ahead turn to red....
so of course i see no harm in having a pop (standard rs turbo), pull up to find its a bloody vts dont i!. so to amber, off he goes, in the time it took me to catch him up he could have eaten his dinner, but when i finally did catch him up (20mph), i couldnt get past
, but he couldnt pull away at all, my point isnt to say im a innit chava who goes street racing for a hobby but i've noticed people many peeps on many forums generally say vts' are fast things & standard rs turbos are slow.....either they are both slow or both fast lol
- what i think of myself for posting such a silly thread

When i got my series 1 it had; a stainless and K n N and 9psi. . . It was 148 bhp.
After wanting one since i was a 'lad' i must say i was very dissapointed. But... I had it chipped and I was VERY impressed!! It just transforms the car. A Chip, uprated intercooler and 16psi will more than see a VTS off.
My advice is get it chipped... you won't regret it

at the end of the ok ok, it was a race, i wasnt bothered in the slightest, i still love my car to bits regardless of the speed. however, just need to get the clutch sorted on mine then i will be investing in a stage 1 and hoping for 175bhp.
i;ve heard thats good power for an rst without being completely mental.
good vids by the way

Hyper - Do you realise you can edit posts, so you dont have tons of threads one after the other.
What power is a VTS as standard, and what can they be tuned up to (with reasonable money).

I could run faster than a VTS! There similar power to RS 's i think 130ish? Its something about N/A car off the lights, they have the edge cus they have no lag, but once ur turbo spins up they eat it!
surely the turbo should already spinning like a beeeeatch (when ur revving the shit out of it, well 3000rpm's+) then let the clutch go...................and u torque steer into a lampost or kerb
lol, i didnt thing reving at 3k would be the done thing as i would look at tw*t at a set of lights.
as for having a standard one hyper, i appreciate that, and i would if no monetry loss to me sell it and buy a mint modified one, however the bodywork on mine in really good so i wouldnt want to buy a modified dog and have to fork out extra cash both on the body and the engine, i've been reliably informed.......quote, i have never driven a healthier standard rst
