Get it done asap keep it at bay for longer, you wont necessarily have to have the entire roof painted may be able to get it localised.

yeah, i guessed it wasnt, but its unsightly and wouldnt mind it sorted. i think i'll take a trip to moorlands to get a quote.

never been repaired b4, thats the 1st sign in 17yrs that rust has appeared on the roof

If you were to remove the headlining you would see the true extent of the rot..........and should be your next move IMO
You will probably find the sunroof recess is also rotting as per normal

yuo wont see much as there's 2 or 3 skin's there.. i've fixed this same bit on my m8's s2.. we had to cut out the rot and wld in new metal.. i've got pic's somewhere..

could'nt really say how much it would cost. but at least your roof will be red again.. the bit on my m8's car was a lot worse than that.. it had bubbled right up. you might be lucky an cought it in time.. get to a decent body shop asap..

yeah, cheers cossie69. they just look like stone chips that have gone rusty so i might be ok as u say. certainly my next job though. was going to go stage 1 but that can wait i think

Hi i have had the same problem but much worse, and have been quoted 500 for the roof. 1500 for the whole car. But looking for cheaper deals after next MOT.
