I've spent all week fettling my new engine and preparing the 3 door to go back to 2wd and today i noticed something about my turbo that i hadn't noticed before! The place where you would normally connect a pipe to on the compressor housing has instead of a nipple a small grub screw blocking it off
This reminded me that when i looked at the air injectors that came with the engine that one pipe went left and one went right off the injectors instead of both left to the turbo and actuator! I then looked at the intercooler and noticed two take offs for pipes! I know one is for water injection , but could the other one be for the air to air to connect to instead of the compressor housing
The engine was built by Jondell and runs P8 with als,wi and air to air..
I have never seen a compressor without a pipe going to it anyone else?
Cheers Spadge...

So will i need to drill and tap my new bling pro alloy intercooler (yes i binned the gen 500 one
) to use the same map it was running before? Or will it be ok on the air injectors with a pipe on the comp???

you could just put the normal fixing back on the comp housing
other than that, do you have any metal boost hoses post intercooler (pre-throttle)? tap them instead of your shiny new cooler

Compressor covers used in motorsport often had a right angle connector to avoid the pipe fouling the restrictor they will have once had installed. The alternative was to pick up a pressure input elsewhere.
Dont worry about it. But if your worried, contact a turbo company, buy the spout, remove the bung and refit it

I have the fitting but just wanted to make sure it won't upset the map if i move the pipe to where it should be instead of the cooler!

i woulda thought that with air/air that it wouldnt make a difference where the input feed is coming from, as the impression i am under is that the pressure of this feed is almost irrelivant to the operation of the air injectors
ie if the car cant underboost like this coz the air/air will just open the fookers up more if it does
as oposed to on say a GRSed RST which simply relies on a normal actuator/bleed setup whereby there is no BRAIN controlling the boost so the boost does its own thing regardless
anyone see where im coming from?

Spadge,
Check the boost pressure after install, it WILL possibly make a difference but it will only be minor, still best tio check than kill her though eh? Shouldnt be too hard with all those fookin gauges once youve figured out which one you were supposed to be looking at...
