Default PROBLEMS!

whilst on a cruse this afternoon with a mate of mine, i dropped the sapph into 3rd and gave it till 4th, when i let off i heard a backfire, thought it was the normal thing, but when i pressed the pedal again i felt like the car didn't want to move, dropped it to 3rd and felt the same. i looked at the boost gauge and saw that the there was no boost. thought the turbo gave-up on me, but there was no smoke coming from the exhaust and no rattle or noise from the engine bay when raised! hopefuly it's a pipe that blew somewhere!
does anyone have any other suggestions !? please let me know peeps! cheers

the guy who i am going to take it to 2mo told me that it could be that a shaft snapped or something of that sort because blades are all ok and there is no smoke coming from the exhaust or any oil leaks. if he tells me that it can't be fixed i won't bother with a re-build, i will just buy a new turbo. most prob got pissed off of having 32psi slammed into her day in, day out!
