Default Inner wing rust...

Inside the rear arch on the fuel cap side, rust has been found

Whats involved in sorting this? is it a big job? huge extra bills at the bodyshop is all i need

Outer arch is fine btw, has been welded in the past

So you mean the rust is only evident from inside the boot when the trim panels are removed?

Well, as you've probably read enough times the only definate way to remove the rot is to have the whole panel off, not very easy on a rear quarter though

Its only single skin there, i expect there is a repair section that you can buy. Thats a very common place for them to rust. Can you get a picture of it?

hang on actually, the filler pipe doesnt enter the car? Is it the panel that is behind the filler neck (that isnt the outer bodywork though)

Yeah the panel around the filler pipe, assumed it was inner wing...

can't see how you'd get to it to repair without serious chopping of panels inside or out

Mines rotten in the same place although the outer skin is perfect.

heres one of my rear arches after a clean up, mark on here where yours is rotten so we can see where you mean exactly.

lower rear inner arch rot

the lower front inner arch rot

rot nearly all cut out

the nearly finished article

cant find the pics of the underside after welding and plating, will have a good look later, see if they turn up

its not too big a job for a bodyshop to be honest, pop down to your local place and show them, see what you're looking at paying.
