Default some one's just crashed into my

son's Vw Polo which was parked at college!

a young man on a scooter got hit up the arse by one of his m8's and he's gone down the o/s rear 1/4 and door! now I have been out and looked at the car and the damage IS very superficial ie apart from a dent (length of a mobile phone but hasn't broke the paint) I think a body shop would be able to polish the rest out hopefully!

question is shall I let insurance deal with it or give the young man a call and see what he want to do about it as he turn round and said the car shouldn't have been there

my son wasn't present at the time of accident but a good few people saw what happened and detained the rider and 2 people have left their numbers/address!

IF I PHONE MY INSURANCE WILL IT BE SEEN AS BEING A CLAIM AGAINST MY POLICY???

Moped riders are complete pain in the arse.

Send it through the insurance anyway. Teach the little twat a lesson for knobbing about.

To be honest, if he hadn't been a twat and said the car shouldn't have been there, then I'd have said phone him up and sort it between yourselves.

Since he obviously thinks that he doesn't watch where he's going and wants to play the tosspot I'd take him through the insurers and make sure he pays for it next year.

just got of the phone to his mum and she is saying "No you dont have to have his details you need to speak to the other boy that him as it's his fault not her sons" yea righto so had to spend 1/2 explaining how it goes and I'm going to leave it with the legal department 2morrow as I paid £25 extra for things just like this!

ps her sons bike has about £300 worth of damage and he's only been insured since Saturday

The claim goes to the person that hit the car, not the person that hit someone into the car.

been to a get price to get it done and got to admit is going to cost between £100-£170 for cash at a m8's place so that'll do for me I'm not going to pull his pants down as he(DAD) has already got to repair mine, the ped that hit the car and his own son's as well so will leave a bit of a dent in his wallet I would of thought so as long as it's repaired

you are a bunch of bullys, telling the little boy he's going to have his little bit of freedom taken away from him

as far as i am aware (having been through all of this a few times in the past, once for the company when i was hit and once for the company where one of our buses hit a car and shunted it along) you claim off of the person who hit you
they can then claim off of the person who hit them and so on and so forth

as far as the car being parked illegaly, just because it's not supposed to be there doesn't mean to say someone can total it because they don't look where they are going

if it was to go through the insurance this would be seen as the other guy driving like a pillock, with possible police involvment depending on how serious it was, personal injury etc

as it stands, you have got your car fixed (possibly) he has got himself into trouble with his old man, his mate is getting the blame and everyones' happy

arn't they?
