I'd say you're up for a ban... 104mph is practically 50% over the speed limit.

100+ is pretty much an instant ban so you'll be lucky if you get away with anything less.

Can they prove it was u driving? u could always forget who was at the wheel? Probably need to go to court as the owner but i doubt u'd get anything more than a fine or maybe 3 points?

Crowds.

If you can't remember who was driving they will just go after the registered keeper. If you are going to try and defend your innocence (because you wouldn't just want to get away with it ) you will have to be clever and play the legal game. Schoolboy tactics of playing dumb won't work

If they get funny then say Lee Bowyer's case is a precedent. He got let off and they did a deal. Disgraceful.

I got caught doing 107. Sods They goaded me they did, I swear it!

Anyway, my friend and I piled ont he 'mitigating' circumstances (empty motorway, 2am in the morning, just testing officer etc) and the reasons I'd need my licence. Did NOT want points so I took a 5 day ban between christmas and new year when I wouldn't be driving. Oh and a oner fine.

It all depends on how very very sorry you are

That's why they have photos these days. Then you'll get PROPER done when they can say for sure it was you. Was a case last week I think.

50% Jim... 50%!

70 + 35 = 105

If it was 100% over it would be 140mph.

Whatever you do, get a solicitor. It will prove how serious you are about keeping your licence. Expensive I know but you wont have the jargon skills on your own!

They are going to have your pants down - that is guaranteed. You just need to prevent them from entering your anus!

Think yourself lucky if you get a 28 day ban. They are making examples of us now. The motorist is the enemy. The young motorist is their worst enemy!

True. Owning a car is just another method of raping the citizens wallet.

Buy a car = tax element
modify a car = vat tax element on parts
road licence = more tax element
insurance = insurance tax element
petrol = large tax element
Speeding = further payments

And all of this with money you have earned after tax.

Where will it all end?

What are they trying to achieve?

+30mph on a speed limit tends to mean a ban in most cases according to the law as it was when i was busy avoiding these sorts of things
what you want to know is how they caught you
is that the average speed? in which case you WILL have been going faster
or is this a fixed camera location
in which case you oculd have mitigating circumstances (bigger wheels have throw your speedo reading out, tailwind, down hill, etc)
if you cask for a picture you can see how much of a bother you are in, if it shows the car full up with people then you can say you wern't driving but can't say who was (you'd need to bring along several people who could have been in the car with you at the time) opr you can pull the old "i wasn't driving because i was drunk" (assuming it was later on and you'd had a few cold drinks)
there are ways around it but you need to start with a tale that you will stick to
no point in saying "but i wasn't going 104, was going 99.8" and then try and say someone else was driving

then again, the judge might just decide to shaft you and there is nothing you can do about it

The coppers are out of touch with reality or the judges for that matter.

And after his shift, Im sure the smirking copper drove home not exceeding the speed limit once. Yeah right! Fookin hypocrites!

Whatever you do, do not do that. I did that and got fucked with a Ł1000 fine by our chums at the magistrates court.

dont do anything untill you have registered and spoken to the guys on pepipoo.

well, its up to you really, feel free to roll over and get shafted, but I would be atleast try asking the guys @ pepipoo for thier advice first.

you might be suprised at your options, at the very least you will fid out how best to approach the courts and how to minimalise the hit.
