Default valve stem seals please help

hi i think my valve stems seals have gone on my FRST, its blue smoke from cold and when ticking over, but not when im driving it.

so its not the turbo or it would smoke when boosting (am i correct)

i have seen these on ebay

mate, do yourself a favour and buy some proper made valve stem seals. yes buy pukker payen ones but dont buy cheap or "sugested" equivelent ones. there are even better ones than payen but ive used payen and they been fitted for years now with no probs. if fitted cheap ones that have lasted 3 weeks. had to do them again after this as they where as bad if not worse than before. just my opinion. id never use ebay as a source of engine components. theres no comback at all for starters

they cost less than a tenner for the set from fords.

its not bad at all provided you can get yourself a special tool for holding the valves up

dont halfords do the valve holding tool?

seen the valve spring compressor tool in various places so is it easy with that tool then :-D

easy job to do as long as the valve comes up as they do tend to get stuck but make sure you block and cover the area your working on the head(oil gallerys) as you dont want to drop a collet then you will be buggered as i done this and took the head off and still could'nt find it and evently found it in the sump

get them fitted then down to the pod on sunday better ring the rac in advance lol
