my mate has a series two and when the engine is running it wont go into gear at all. it will go in fine when engine is off. now im guessing this is summit to do with the clutch? altho he said it is a fairly new one in there.
any ideas what the problem could be? thanks in advance

 

clutch not releasing

 

seems like a f*cked clutch fork or ratchet. common problem on mk3/4's.

sounds like its not set properly.

any idea as to what clutch he had fitted ??? as it might need an uprated ratchet / quadrent fitting....

 

if the clutch is fitted backwards it wont go into gear

 

ha ha i think its just a standard clutch that has been fitted? , he did say he tried moving the arm on gearbox in different positions. do you think this could be the prob?

 

he has put the clutch release bearing on hasnt he
