Zetec More Power Needed
Only real way to get that much power is using weber alpha throttle bodies or twin carbs, with 285 profile cams (piper)!
Im using 45mm bodies (Ł1700ish) and Piper 285 cams (Ł300ish) with stage one head (Ł???). I rolling roaded my 1.8 with this set up and got 182bhp and 143lbft, But it costs!

Isnt this one of the cheapest expensive ways to get more horsepower?
the 130ps zetec engine has been already extensively worked by ford. some people will disagree but its the truth. for pounds per horsepower its going to head towards the negative end of the scale, many people choose to switch to a 2l lump as its easier to get power from.
if you did decide to stick to the 1.8 you could do the basics such as a four branch manifold, full stainless system and then a upgrade to ignition in the form of magnecore leads and better plugs, add a superchip and a couple of hours on the rollers you could possibly be up to 145bhp but it would feel much quicker than that. another route people have taken is to remove the exhaust gas recurculation system to stop un filtered air entering the combustion chamber, also a correctly set up on a fse power boost valve will show up a 0.5 bar increases in fuel pressure over 3000-3500 rpm which is the engines main flat spot. possibly if all this was done correctly you could be looking at MAYBE 150 bhp.
if you was to improve the brakes and suspension along with this increase in power im sure you would be very happy with the result.
if you do decide to stick with the 1.8 and std management i have a superchip, powertec ind kit and egr removal kit available that i could send at a discounted rate.
