Default FAO MEF

i have just striped the rear of me s2 so i can send all the bits of for powercoating.

But been looking in to the rear traling arms.

Whats the advantage of runing these?

Its just for a fast road car and mayb the odd track day.

would you say the coilcovers and the parallel arms are abit over kill for the road?

Thanks for your help again.

In the absence of Tony and Martin....

They are not overkill at all. The idea is they stop the rear wheels steering the car with suspension travel - which if anything is more important on the road then a smooth track! Obv u do need coilovers, but it will transform the handling of the car no end. I'm lucky enough to have driven Tony's car, and words cannot explain how well that thing handles

Thanks Rick.

Martins in Belgium at the mo so wont see the post, but the adjustable rear trailing arm allows both positive and negative adjustment of castor. It also helps keep the back end a little tighter on hard cornering by doing away with some of the rubber bushes.

Parallel arms will do as Rick says and basically stop the rear wheels from trying to steer the car on cornering, and allow infinate adjustment of camber and toe settings. At the end of the day it can give you much better stability at speed or make it corner like its on rails.

oh yes ,you have to watch tyre/wheel size too,as they are straight and could rub against the tyre wall.

its a future mod for me.

true, but it was machined spring height adjusters, didnt work as well as we thought, ned to be milled offset for the spring to seat ,or flatten off the spring coil edge.
