They are not overkill at all. The idea is they stop the rear wheels steering the car with suspension travel - which if anything is more important on the road then a smooth track! Obv u do need coilovers, but it will transform the handling of the car no end. I'm lucky enough to have driven Tony's car, and words cannot explain how well that thing handles
