lool just posted onther thread too

i have no idea where to start, i checked in the cabin, both switches operate the relay so isue is between relay and pump, or might be pump though i am assured it was working fine 9 months ago when it was taken off road!!!!

im at a loss as have no experience with drop tops!
no the basics of the electrics but as to where to look in this case

i checked my fuse box for the obvious but there is nothing blown and the roof has no designated fuse

i will be checkin it out on sunday so any ideas will b great,

im off to kip as have work in 6 hours and only just got in off the doors

Ah right ok, just wondered cos D&R security is my sisters and her fiance's LTD company

Shouldn't be too hard to find the fault with the roof pump, im not too sure if they have fuses for the main pump feed or not, might me a maxi fuse on the fuse holder on the battery + terminal. Does the power surge when you try and operate the roof? If it does then i would say the motor has ceased up

Basically, on cabriolets as a safety feature u can only put the roof down with the engine not running, its wired to the alternator for obvious safety reasons. Its easily bypassed.

Bad luck mate, theres 2 cabriolets in buckeys and they both have manual roofs

Give me a shout if you want a hand it shouldnt take long to trace the fault

well had a good look at the hole system on sunday

still not found the break in the power feed

but found 1 mojor problem, picked up some cleanin fluid from a m8 at the pub, stuck it in the boot, thought nothin of it

anyone who has seen the pump for one of these up close will notice what the weakest part of the pump is, lets just say its no longer attached to the pump, and i have a slight oil puddle in the tyre well

So what you thinking about the oil puddle???

Rust proofing?

So what exactly is wrong? Pipes disconnected or is the motor broken or what?

Don't give up!!!!!!!!!

Thats a minor thing, although i just looked on microcat to give you a helping hand but i think you can only get the pump as a whole

Can't see the bottle listed seperately

9 months stood, wouldnt start, blown diff

guy spent 4 days trying to get it goin about 3 months back with no joy

i spent 5 mins with a set of jump leads, can of lynx, and a lorry batery then drove it home, was fine till i tried to reverse, if u coasted with the clutch in goin backwards the box locked,

new box from a 1.4 scort with 59000 on it, same box so got that from harry's for 30 then new cv boots and a bit of graft on the drive way
