Default What authorities to inform about engine transplant?

I am in the process of swapping my 1.6cvh over to a 2.1 16v zetec, and was just wondering what authorities should be informed so that it is all above board?, all I can think of is :

- DVLA
- Insurance

Is there anyone else I should be informing.

I know you see these adverts "Insure this cossie as a 1.6 as thats all it says on the log book", but in my eyes that is just asking for trouble, because as far as im aware, if the police was to do a check into it and found the information to be false on your V5 then that effectively means your insurance is void, not a good thing in my eyes.

Also, if i remember rightly the MOT is changing (if it hasnt already) which requires the MOT tester to inform DVLA of any engine modifications / transplants to car they are examining ?

Basically just want everything to be above board and legal

Thanks.

Then if you get pulled over by the police, everything should be ok?

The DVLA are shite. I kept writing to the them with the new engine number and they just kept sending out new V5's with the old number still on. In the end I wrote a letter of complaint and they eventually did it. Not impressed with them at all though.
