Default home draft beer??????

right my nan ( see plays the game and dont get me crap presents ) got me this small but, shit hot beer keg, for christmas! i know that was 5 months ago, but had to wait for a sunny friday, to get on it!

now this got me thinking about installing a proper keg for some nice draft beer, so anyone done it? whats the best way to go about it??? i have a larder/cupboard in the corner of the kitchen that would be perfect, i hope

ebay = http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=7611461662

how much does a keg hold (pints) cost £ss and how quick do you have to drink it once the seals broken

for lager you'll need gas (CO2 i think) and a proper dispenser for it etc.
best bet would be to speak to a friendly landlord and get him to add an extra keg to his order and that way you will get it trade price.
iirc they are 7 gallon so 56 pints (I THINK been a while!!!)

beer you can pretty much pull straight off the barrel (72pints), or local breweries etc would do 40 and 20 pint containers.
once opened, need drinking within a week.

just updated my first post with a little more info!

lager is slightly harder to keep what with the gas etc. but for a small home setup shouldnt be too bad.

and you will have to finish it in one week, keep the CO² bottle and keg at a decent temperature, if you cannot, adjest CO² with temperature etc...

You need to have it "flowing" if it stands a bit in the lines, it starts to taste bad.

I know, great for showing off

You can get the perfect draft system from phillips tough, will cost about the same, and you will have to keep the kegs in the fridge and put them on the system 24 hours in advance.

You can get Stella on it, Jupiler, some german beers, ....
All in about 5 litres i think.
