what are these?obviously top mounts,but you hear different terms like spherical or eccentric or concentric etc......what are spherical ones?and are they worth having?ive been offered a set for 75 notes on the nova!and i want to know wether to buy them or not.cheers

 

sperical will mean that the top mount has a sperical bearing in it that the strut bolts to. replaces the rubber shite.

eccentric means that the top mounts can be rotated thus giving different camber adjustments.

If you're into adjustability, then theres no question!

 

er....im just after better handling,got an xe up front and am looking to make it better in corners,got the bushes,getting tca's looking at sphericals,wouldnt know how to set them up!

 

they will remove flex fromt the top mounts, but as will all rose joints etc they will give a harsher ride.

if you have coil over then it may be worth getting the eccentric ones as then you can adjust the camber etc

 

Like Dan said, spherical dont mean its adjustable, just solid.

Need ones like on my SX, or eccentric ones, to be adjustable.

But adj TCAs do the same job (camber) anyhow, and on a FWD you wont want more camber than the TCAs will give you.

 

no coilovers,i dont like adjustable things,it means i can play with them and fuck them up!just wanna fit and forget!does 75 notes sound ok?

Save your money n buy a diff and some better tyres.

Might be worth getting the tracking done too.

im after gettin a diff at some point anyway! making cars handle is a black art i reckon,but some new tyres are being looked for right now on ebay!

are they brand new or 2nd hand?

Ł75 seams reasonable i guess if they are new.

rally design lists nova eccentric ones for Ł50, then the bearings are Ł30 on top.

 

i think theyre unused but cant be certain,and if theyre that price new i can spend a little exra and get a warranty,naye bother,cheers!
