Default Chemical Metal

Right a while back i hit a Moped and completely trashed its rear end. Luckily enough the guy i hit was my old mate from school's brother. Anyway, i bought another Ped the same as his (Gilera ICE) from eBay that had front end damage. He is bringing the bike round on Saturday for me to repair with these parts. However, there is 3 bolts which mount the rear number plate mounting bracket onto the engine, 2 of these have snapped inside the engine. I cant be bothered drilling them out, retapping etc aswell as the added hassle of having to ensure no debris going into the engine. What I was thinking of doing was using Chemical Metal (or something similar if there was anything else) to sort of try and fuse a bit of metal between the snapped head and the thread, just so it looks like I have repaired it properly .

Will this work? Is there any tips when using it? If it is not suitable for this sort of use, is there any other product which I can use?

Cheers in advance

its just holding the rear number plate on? id probably try an eazi-out, and if that fails go down your route - its only the plate after all

ive used chemical metal before but only to repair a radiator on a fiesta where the turbo decided to say hi to it.

i must admit it worked great as i thought the rad was well beyond repair. done that and stuck in some rad weld and the huge hole that was in it was sorted.

as far as using it to stick metal together i have no idea how good it is.

might sound like a ture cowboy here but how about no nails or even better tiger seal.

bloody strong stuff is tiger seal and if its just a number plate u might get away with it.
but dont just do it on my advice as i dont wanna be the one who makes the brother come knocking at ur door next week saying my number plate fell off

Trouble is he is being a cock and saying if it doesnt get fixed he wants a new engine put in, hence why i can only really be arsed to bodge it..but i dont want it to be obvious . There is more chance of him being rimmed by Gary Glitter than there is of him getting another enigne in the shitheap .
