Default mot question re warning light on dash

just a quick question does anyone know if when i take my car for its mot does it matter if my brake warning light and handbrake light stay on even though there is no fault with the brakes? normally i would just take it in and see if it failed but since you cant get free retests anymore i cant afford to take the chance at the moment?

as long as it has nothing to do with the ABS it's fine i'e S2 turbo's
would fail as that is ment to go out when the handbrake is released
