Default Distance to work

Going to a job interview tomorrow and the job is 40 miles from my house. It takes around 40 mins to get there as its mainly motor ways to get there.

How far would you travel for a job? the main reason i am up for doing it is there is hardly any work where i live..........

Used to do a 60 mile round trip each day for work

Then 2 companies became one in a franchise aggreement and became Northern Trains Ltd

Then I transfered to a depot 5 mins from my house, so my journey is 2 miles each way now

i drive 32 miles to work and I do do some stupid shifts, am only a team leader so might think about getting a job closer to home to save some cash

its just a pain when u do a 14hr shift and have an hours drive before u can chill/sort tea

i live about 10 miles and takes 50mins. but thats ona train.

if i go to the other train station (which is a 20min walk instead of a 5min walk) its actually faster as its a quick non-stop train in

gotta love london

I do Dunstable to Slough which is 37 miles. takes just over an hour each way but if i worked in luton (5 miles away) that would take me 45mins anyway!

But its a good job with lots of prospects so I think its worth the early mornings.

Team leaders job going on my team all you've got to put up with is the SCC pay lol

I work 2 miles from my house, did all the traveling 20 miles into and across birmingham M6/M5, wouldn't wan't to do it again unless the ŁŁ was right, if there arent any jobs your way though it doesn't sound like you've got a choice, good luck though

i dont pay the diesal or for the van i drive.i work in utility on the roads and big constuction sites.to do this work in my area i would only earn 1/3 of what i do now and i only actually work 7-8 hours.so cant complain and there is 2 of us so split the driving.
