i lowered the car 25mm or 30mm. cant remember which now

recently have put 17's on there which i was having quite a bit of rubbing. I have cut down the inner shields and it has made a fair difference but still does it. How would I over come this problem. I have stiff suspension already, the only thing i can think of would be to go stiffer lol.

any opinions or advice....

What size tyres you using. 205/40/17 are one mine and no rubbing issues at all

 

I use 205/40 17's on my cabriolet and all 4 arches rub

 

Is it dropped to the deck?

Unlikely...you haven't said the profile of the tyre you are running? and how wide are the 17's?

 

Just cos you're gettin on and can't handle the bumpiness of a decked car

To be fair my cabriolet is a bit excessive, with standard 14" rims and a full car the tyres were right up in the arches, id say un-laden its about 6" off the ground (of course that all depends on what you've been led to believe 6" is of course )

When i put them 17's on it wouldnt roll off the drive cos the tyres were ON the arches

hello mate well i have 17's with 205/40 tyres and its lowered 40mm and it only rubs on the back right wheel but thats because for some reason it sits lower that side!!, however i personally think that 40mm is too low and hard ive gone for a 30mm drop with 16's and its fantastic, with adjustable track control arms and stiffend anti roll bars hopefully, will handle like a troper mate.

 

Hi mate i had 17s on my old one and it only rub with someone i the back and that was lowered by 60mm and my new one is lowered 25mm and i have 17s on it with 205/40/17 tyres and i have no rubbing at all mate

 

had same problem with mine, endend up putting standard springs back on and putting caravan spring assistors on the rear, no props with mine now and i run on rs7 s with 205/40 17 tyres

 

will 16's and a 40mm drop rub ?

i would think 16's would be ok fella. just cant understand why mine rubs. Its ok for standard driving. When you hit a hole in road or something then it will rub

 

17s are too big ruins the handling,should have no problems weith 16s
