Big BHP figure
Im really into my RST now and want more power.
Different people say different things about different engines but I'd like as many views as possible as to what build to go for.
I want as much BHP as possible obviously but want to keep my car reliable as possible aswell.
What kind of money have you people put into your builds aswell???
My car just now was running 205bhp at high boost but has given me gasket failure between cylinders so its all turned down just now till it goes to AVA this week.
I just want an idea of what spec I should look for to speak to them about it when Im in getting a set-up.
I was thinking 2.1 Zetec Bottom end/Stage 3 head kind of lines.......
Whats your views anyway??
Cheers

Here is my spec
1618cc CVH, stage 2 big valve head (ported and polished), Newman cam, solid lifters, piper vernier, wire ringed block, lowered compression(7.5:1), ARP conrod Bolts, heavy duty bearings, high pressure oil pump, AVA ecu, 7000rpm limiter, AVA modified fuel system, AVA high flow tubular manifold, T28 turbo, 360 bearing, reshaped cosworth front pipe, AVA Large capacity intercooler, samco water and boost hoses, magnecor leads, magnex exhaust, modified airbox, AP 4 paddle clutch.
I made 205@ wheels with 16psi at AVA

Just bear in mind mate that you can give the car as much power as your wallet will allow - but it's still a FWD car which means you still need to get the power down.............you could well get taken off the lights by a car far less powerful as he'll be able to put the power down. Once you get going you'll be off but even then you may still get wheelspin. This then places a lot more strain on the moving components (gearbox, driveshats, clutch etc). BHP in a road car is pub talk bullshit in real terms - I went for torque and midrange which is where you really notice it rather than just 'numbers'.
i agree that really its all bout gettin torque and puttin it down!!!
my car is 220bhp and it flys mate.... from standin start get hardly any wheels spin and none in 2nd (unless wet) and it really goes...
ultimate spec gotta go 16v route!
