Thats part of the glass section i believe.

Have a look at the local scrappy, im sure u will find one thats in a good condition. If not i can probably source you a good second hand one

If you're buying new though go into you local Ford dealer and hold your hands out, say "sunroof" very slowly, do a few hand actions and hopefully they will get the picture (!)

Mk5 escorts have the same sunroof, but not the bronze tint if it's for a series 1.

I THINK its bonded in............even if you did manage to seperate i can guarantee you either break the glass or ruin the metal cradle (or both if you're a bit of a tool like me )

I hate to piss on your chips, but with a Sunroof like that, I can't help but wonder what the roof cavity looks like.

Hmmm, I think vinegar-piss would result in a sore japs-eye.

While the sunroof is out, get a torch and peer into the Sunroof cavity. Normally the rear corners are badly rotten, this cannot be seen externally. I cannot see any easy way to rectify this. The rust bubbles on the roof tend to start on the drivers side just behind the sunroof.

It is caused by the sunroof drains blocking. The only way to stop it is to back-blow the drains and waxoyl in the sunroof cavity, but that only works on a 100% rust-free roof and I bet there aren't many of those around.

I would hate to see anyone resto a car, then find the roof bubbles, that's why its worth a look before you take it on. My shell is in VERY good condition from a corrosion point-of-view, but the roof has started to go, so that goes to show that overall condition is no guide as to what the roof will be like.

yeh luckily mine isnt bad at the back,it was just round the front so we could get to it to clean it up and spray it...we did however consider cutting the bottom off the lower panel to give access and cleaning it up then welding it back on! as we knew we'd never get a mint roof skin with a sunroof and i didnt wanna lose the sunroof! so changing the skin wasnt really worth it!
