ERST chipped ECUs
What do they do to a std ecu to chip it? Just remove boost limit and thats it?
I changed the chip on my Series1 and they were like chalk and cheese in terms of power. My original chip is by Turbosystems which runs at 1 bar and the other unknown chip (hearts hash diamond yes i know its the wrong code) ran 14 psi but felt much quicker, could this be ignition related possibly less retarded when on boost.
Advice greatly appreciated

Hi mate. Yes, the ignition maps can be different - very different actually.
But, u cant compare them directly without changing the base timing (dizzy) as one may be designed to run more static advane than the other.
The way to do it, it to advance the timing as much as possible using det cans

Yes, it defo would. But - thats providing ur tuner is willing to experment with the timing, and that the car doesn't get too hot - ie intake tempos and coolant temps are the same for each run.
