Default FRST misfire when floored.

Hi everyone newbie here.

Just bought a nice FRST and very pleased with it except for one thing if sat I am in 5th doing about 50mph and floor it power cuts a couple of times (like a bad misfire) then it takes off. If I floor it through the gears it pulls like a train and no problem, any ideas?

It's a completely standard car except for a Mongoose exhaust.

I'm only guessing with this but by the sounds of it, its likely to be slightly over boosting, has it got a boost valve??? if not try winding the actuator bar IN 1-2 turns and see if the problem is present if not then get it to a tuners for a tune and boost and fuel set.

Sounds like it's hitting the overboost. In 5th the boost can spike higher which is what is probably causing it to hit the boost cut

not true, all frst dont do it, mine doesn't, it has in the past as i played around with it, but it didnt do it all the time.

a standard frst running stand boost etc should not do it, and yeah it sounds like over boost btw.

prob find the actuator has gone a little slack, like above, winding it in a couple of turn might sort this.

Thanks for all the replies.
I changed the plugs, leads and disconnected the battery to reset the ECU this seems to have solved the problem.

One more question, what PSI of boost does a standard Fiesta Turbo run?

Cheers.
