Default Extra Fuelling ??? Aeroquip?????

I had my Series 1 set up on the rollers, the engine is capable of 300hp with all the mods etc, but I am finding it difficult getting enough fuel to make the car safe.

Now I have a couple of queries and wonered if the GURUS out there could answer my questions.

1) Are S1 supposed to have a fuel acumulator like the S2???

2) If I increase the fuel line size by using aeroquip or similar make can I increase the fuel pressure???

3) Whats the safest way to get more fuel noting that I have the 5ht injector (turned out ot be a cold start valve so I am changing that for a dark green one.

I need help,, Please help me!!!!

The S1 has an accumulator under the back near the spare wheel well.

Fuel pipe size isn't an issue to be honest. You'll get about 400bhp worth of fuel down there.

Get a proper MF2 mappable 5th injector that goes into the cross over pipe.

There is other options. You can up the fuel pressure, adjust the electromagnetic fuel pressure actuator if it's not already been done and have the metering unit resprung...

a even better answer is to go for efi mate.. change the injectors and get it mapped to match then you should get enough fuel.. im converting to efi and using ford racing injectors..
or if u want to make it up so u can setup your own fuelling go for megasquirt..

I wans't going to suggest the conversion to EFI as I got the impression he wanted to stay with KE Jet. If that isn't the issue, then EFI is far better than KE Jet.

what are "ford racing injectors"

for 300hp, id recommend full efi, but with an mf2 u can certainly do it.

I wondering the same. I would hate to imagine the state of the off-boost fuelling with such primative on-boost adjustment.

IMO you can't stay away from EFi at that level.

I know for pushing 300hp that EFI is the way to go, but since I got the S1 I would like to have a go at seeing if I can get some good power out the old metering head!!!

Christian and Becky suggested a 5/6th injector set up they might have but as yet they havnt come back to me on a price for it.

I like EFI but I wanna keep if as close to the original as possible. I will EFI my next Series 2 deffo!!!

Off boost fuelling? How does 15:1 sound

It's not easy to do, but IS possible

Nice one Rick.

As you no doubt know, the amount of work in setting up the off-boost fuelling is far greater than the on-boost, no?

How does it drive at 15:1? Nice and smooth?

mate, i can't tell i how much of a pain in the arse it is to get the fuelling right. Very smooth at 15:1 The one thing about KE, is the transient fuelling is very very good - it;s an instant response, and the atomization of mechanical injectors is better than efi.

I really want to goto Efi, just for the ease of adjustment. plust things like mild ALS

Personally, I wouldn't get too excited about ALS. I have it, but NEVER use it. Well on the odd occassion to scare middle-aged road users in road-rage incidents.

What AFR do you run at full boost? OK, so you might not want to tell me that!!

Did you get my PM last night???

With ALS - my use would be for the twisties - to have a little more go when i first touch the throttle. Down the dual carriage ways etc it's not needed

Im not on Closed Loop yet and you are right, ALS and Lambda sensors don't agree, so I most probably won't be using it atall when we change over fully to Closed Loop.

I currently have an Innovate XD-1 Wideband Reader in the car and we are planning to use that in conjunction with the Omex ECU to control the Closed Loop.

ive seen ALS used with the lambda sensor - im guessing it's either quite mild - or the sensor is replaced quite often.

That served the old bastard right for trying to cut me up in a filter lane. I'm not sure if he really knew what had happened to him, he certainly hung back after that.
