Default 4+4 turbo project , more pics added

not a ford lol but an old 205 pug, found it while i was in scotland last week
so i went back today to buy it, it's well strange it is suposed to be over
300bhp hmm a bit optamistic but i know nowt about this car only
what i have sussed out myself, it has coilovers up front and some sort of electronic pump to raise and lower the rear end garret turbo on mi16
engine 4+4 intercooler cozzy management.split rims big brake's and 4wd
to boot it's got a t16 body kit on it and is rott free albe it very dirty so what
do you think should sort out ok with a bit of tlc it's not run for a
while but i'm assured it will as it was running fine when parked up
lets hope he's not telling porkie's

i will take some better pics tomoz with digi cam not my phone lol

Cooool as fuck tho, be interested to find out more.

How did you hear bout it?

What it cost you?

What a spec would I be right in thinking that is based on a 'regular' 205 and is front engined? Should be a real flyer when running right What are your plans for it?

It wont be a 205T16 engine, itl be a 405T16 engine which is basicly a turbod Mi16 and VERY good.

405T16s are well rare, made only about 500 of em, 2litre 16v turbo, Magnetti-Marelli managment, 1.1bar boost std, overboosting to 1.3bar, 220bhp standard, 47-53 front rear power split, 1350kg, 15sec 1/4mile.

Engine name- XU10J4TE
Bore/Stroke- 86x86
Capacity-1998cc
Compression- 8: 1

Runs a chargecooler as standard.

Also as standard it runs a variable vain T25 turbo, heres how it works-- http://216.239.37.104/translate_c?hl...1%26safe%3Doff

Ive seen modded ones running fookoff great T4s etc, supposedly well tuneable.

The car was just from down the road from me, and it was MIGHTY quick, not seen it for a couple of years, I knew whereabouts it was sitting, but from what I was told, the guy who owned it wouldn't sell it.

well lots of tfr and hot water and danzi she's come up a treat, so i
now know a bit more today after looking round it and it runs a t3 with
48 housing 4+4 intercooler level 8 ecu has got areo tec labs tank
strange rear suspension alcon front brakes and cozzy rears the exhaust
and manifolds are a work of art and look the nackers all apears to
be a quality i'm well pleased with what i'v found so here's a few more
pics after i cleaned away years of neglect

well thats about all i'v got time to do give it a wash lol
i will change oil filters and cam belt before checking compresion
and for leaks before i consider even starting it so it will have to
wait till next weekend before i get the chance to start it

The rear suspension-- SOME 405 T16s came with the funny electro-hydraulic suspension, maybe its been fitted to the 205 along with the rest of the transmisison?

What a brilliant find! Well done mate, bet you are chuffed!

Martin B posted up a link from http://forum.205gtidrivers.com to it I had to register to say top effort (also got a massive soft spot for Mk1/2 Escorts!).

What's the story behind the car, do you know mate? Should go rather well, does it actually run yet? (I know you have only had it 5 mins, sorry!).

Let us know when you get it running if you want to get it out on track, us in our (slow and dull by comparison, lol) 205's are at a track event most months.

All the best,

Richard.

have you still got the 205 it belonged to gordon at gordon autoparts as the first pics have his name on it ,not sure who built it but when he had it was very slow probbly not set up right, it was featured in max power about 10+ years ago and they did not beleive it had 300bhp
