after ghost had collected the endura engine from me, i got my rs started finally, the alternator is knackered! that looks a pig to change!

its been happening for a while so ive got round to putting a post up about this issue.

when i revv the car up i get a whirring noise! not overly loud but my mum noticed when i said to her if she could hear it. its coming more from the left hand side of the engine! when your standing at the front of the car.

ive got my ideas what may be wrong but i just want to see your opinions guys!

Change the alteenator 10 min job should sort the problem i think.

but maybe the water pump as well, im going to take the fan belt off and that way i can tell!

when you say rev the engine are you coming on boost??

alternator is quite easy to do.. get yourself a haynes manual

 

Have you managed to sort the problem rob??? i remembered that when i fitted a brand new alternator to mine it made a funny whirring then it stoped after a couple hours driving i think it was just the alternator charging up,

ive done loads of work on cars, alternator is piss, just you have a t2 above it and cant work from above.

lol try it without drinking stella then... best to jack car up and do it from under the car
