what's wrong with them? they can normally be reconditioned relatively easily unless the pistons are really badly corroded and pitted.

could be just dry seals mate, get the mole grips on them and try to twist them out.

calliper recon kits are £30 each calliper from GGR

To be honest Ive had enough of the car at the moment and im thinking of selling it once it has an MOT.

I really just want to get an MOT on it and then maybe get it sold.

I dont want to do anymore work on it ie doing a fiddly recon on a set of calipers, i would rather just put a 2nd hand set on and be done with it.

This car has cost me the best part of a grand this month and im still no closer to getting it back on the road!

I know im going to get the usual "Cosworths are money pits" type replies but ive done less than 500 miles in the fucker since ive had it and im just about fed up with it all.

oh and no saying "only a grand youre lucky" no im not lucky, i had to save that money up and it was all i had!

what makes you think a 2nd hand pair will be any better? my guess is that they won't, it's very common for the dust seal to be split and the pistons to be sticking.

either replace with new, reconned, or recon them to be sure. reconning them once they're off is not a great deal more work than just replacing them.

simple solution, remove the pistons unless they are seized, polish the pistons and the inside of the caliper then put them back togeather, job done if there not badly pitted or seized up,or just call me and buy a working set or better still just sell me the car
