Hi there, I personally think that it is a good price. I know you have spent a shed load on it and it always looked spot on at shows.
BUT>
It is a C reg escort. From what i have seen the ones that fench MEGA money ( which i would class 6k+ as) are low milage/mint but also STANDARD. yours is far from standard and not really do able to put back.

As i said no disrespect, nice car, Just think it is a good price. Just hope for your sake that the bloke is not a messer.

I think it made about its money tbh…..at the end of the day its Ł6k for a 1985 Mk3 Escort with a load of bits stuck in/on it.

As we all know you never get back the money you spend modifying!

 

Ł6k for an S1 is a cracking result.

 

its got an agreed value with the club and insurance company for a min of Ł7000 not including the sounds ie TV's,PS2 and the boot build etc etc
that lot worth about Ł2000
i am not so sure its such a "cracking" price sorry
but Ł20 000 spent and god knows how much time effort etc i think is a poor comparison
maybe i am wrong but my honest view !

Ł6k isn't that bad.... Yes you have shoveld tons of cash into it over the years, but then - we all know that you don't get your money back on modifying cars!!!

My mate bought a S2 shortly after I bought my S1. He blew the lump and had a full ZVH build and then started to mod the tits off the entire car - respray, interior, everything...

After spending about Ł20-Ł21k on mods, lus the inital cost of Ł3700 for the car, he sold it 3yrs later for........... Ł2500

tbh honest I'm VERY surprised you decided to sell!! In my opinion when you've spent a decent amount of cash on modifiying a car its just not worth selling. You may as well keep it for years and years and really get your money's worth out of it!!

IMO you would get 6k for it with standard interior an none of the extra ICE.. if you don't make the sale im sure its worth selling them off and then selling the car as close to standard as you can

thanks guys,i would say the 7 years i have had it all the fun i have had modding it and with the shows etc 2 concorse wins,odd track day
its been great,it was never a car to use but a hobby/interest
i am in a bit better mood today,sorry if my posts seemed off yesterday but we cremated my grandfather who i lived with for 6 years yesterday afternoon the same time the sale ended.
the pulsar is a great car,rot free and i have already done the arches to the same std as sab and doing the rest over winter
i got my own full size pit at my home now !
pulsar is over toc upholstery having the full works and a BIG pionner instal fitted as i type this.
then its off for a full respray pearl black,
new gearbox and clutch to be fitted ,
and by then i will be getting married and going to sharm el sheik for our honey moon
all things looking good
going away now in a hour or so with the caravan and dogs so i wont be on here for a few days
hope you all have a good bank holiday !

 

home now and a LOT happier and a clear head again
