front drive shaft
the front driveshaft on the right of the car (shortest one) of my sierra cosworth 4x4 is couple of years ago replaced by the previous owner now i was today put new grease in the shafts and i could pull the right axle out of the front dif ,normal there''s a clip on the axle so for removing it you must first open de dif casing but mine''s wasn't a clip and there''s no sleeve in the axle to for installing the clip in the dif dont now where the axle came from but is the same as the old one what is the best i can do now the car is running around a few years so with that axle should i buy another drive shaft or is it fine so ? can it come out when youre driving?
it will come out if you've lowered it too much and give it plenty of welly out of corners
but if it's the xr shaft it's a longer shaft that the cossie item
how long is the actual shaft itself as i've got a few kicking baout to measure up against if thats the case

Ive got xr 4x4 shafts on mine
and i cant put the clips in as they have no groove to attatch it to! i brought them second hand 12 months ago and they have withstood loads of launches and sideways action just make sure you have good engine mounts.
Mine are fine and i think mine is relativly low

The xr4x4 shafts have no groove for the clip, and are about 12-15mm longer than the cozzy items, fine to fit them if the car is lowered 40mm or more, but i tried to fit them to mine lowered 25mm and they were too long! when cornering hard they would give a massive judder as they couldnt move in the joints( too long) so as a rule standard shafts up to -25mm, just leave the diff clip off to allow a little movement, xr4x4 items - 40mm
and always use vibratecnics engine mounts as in the long run it saves the shafts as it reduces engine movement.
Hope this helps.
