Default More electrical dramas..

Hi firstly thanks for all your help thus far..

I had the car running today, but it would only run for breif periods (wouldnt rev over like 2500 rpm either) and then it would just cut out.

The engine would only start with the coolant temp sensor disconnected.. what does this mean ??

Also now ive got no power to the fuel pump (black and red wire) and no spark.. when i put a test light between the -ve side of the coil and the -ve coil lead the light does not come on when cranking (it should flick on and off)

checked all relays and fuses and they all seem to be fine. Could this have something to do with the crank angle sensor ? if so can i test it somehow, ive made sure its set at the correct gap.

Any ideas what my problem could be ?

Thanks,
Damion.

yeah, will let us know how you go... i have a feeling its got something to do with the coolant sensor why it wasnt working properly, but the spark prob is a totally different thing.

You could check for a fault code or something ?? isnt there a diagnostic light on the sapphires ?? .. i dont have the wire for one unfotunately

ive now got the car running again.. it still wont start with the coolant temp sensor connected.. but ive had the resistance of it checked against a new sensor and its fine.

The car will run for a few secs and then just cut out.. if i hit the key straight after it cuts out it will start up again.

Also What does the Throttle position sensor do ???
and i hooked up a 15psi fuel pressure gauge to the return line that i used to use when i had carbs and it doesnt read ? too much pressure for it.. i was expecting it to wrap around itself.

Also what would happen if the vacuum lines are sucking in on themselves ? (they are new, but ive been sold the wrong type hoses b4)

Thanks,
Damion
