Some people will say no because the ST is the new RS but ford will bring out some new RS's i think they are just waiting and letting the ST's settle.

I agree, Ford wouldnt cut thier own throat by killing such an important brand.

may be a year or so, untill the current new St's start to lose ground.

ST and RS, they are 2 differnt brands for 2 different markets.

I agree, unfortunately there will probabally be no more RS cars made by Ford.....

The cossies were the ultimate to have and fore runners to the Jap revolution of scoobies and evos......but now they are so well developed its hard to se Ford ever wanting to spend the money to develope and compete in this market......

Shame as we'd all love to see a 4wd, 300+ bhp focus with extreeme rally style body kit......but cant see it ever happening

Gareth who works at dunton (not sure if he is on here?) knew all about the ST before it came out and said the RS is in the pipeline, he got the ST right, so no doubt the RS will probably follow when the sales die down on the ST

I don't know why they never made a Mondeo RS... To me it would seem like the logical successor to the Saff. An RS Mondeo with a 4x4 drivetrain and 300bhp would be awesome IMO.

But who'd buy a Ł30k Modeo or Focus when you consider what else you can have for the cash?

I think theres more chance of a low volume Fiesta RS unless they can adapt the volvo AWD setup into the focus and focus production line without too much disruption. It's all about profitability, unfortunately, high cost low volume 'specials' just dont make the cash. And they dont need an image boost either with the ST being so well recieved and the RS branded car doing so well in WRC

Wouldn't they ? How many people on this board would actually buy a brand new RS ???
And I don't mean "yes, I'd like to, but won't because I can't afford it"

It's all about economics and money I am afraid, if there isn't a market for the cars, Ford simply won't make them.
The RS focus was made in small numbers, and they sold them all, had Ford made twice as many, they probably would have some still sat waiting to be sold

We see it on this board all the time when someone sells a car for Ł6K, loads of people would love to buy, but can't afford them, let alone insurance and running costs, so they don't sell.
What chances do ford have with Ł25-Ł30K cars

Sorry to sound negative, but this is the real world we live in

If it was as promised with 4x4 and 300+bhp I would consider it, as for the outlay... Ł24-28 at a push , but she would have to be some thing special !

I still feel that we will see another RS, but what model who knows!

When the Sierra cosworth came out and someone told me they where to make an Escort, I thought they were joking....but that became reality. Lived that dream, so why not another one...keep the RS badge going I say...are you listening FORD.
