bit of a basic question really wot should the timing be on a chipped engine???? should it be standard or summat else

just a guess, but on idle should be standard and the advance should go beyond the normal on acceleration, chiped engines rev higher and more freely so would need more of an advance to facilitate, just an educated guess mind you

thats wot i was thinking also was just a general question cos i was having a fiddle with mine the other day to see if i could loose the flat spot ive got

13 degrees BTDC on idle standard ,and depending on the make of your chip its usually 12 or 11 d.BTDC

More boost less advance. More advance less boost! Sounds straight forward enough the real skill however comes in finding the optimum ballance!

It all depends on who has set your car up & their preferred method of optimising your power as to whats best for your car.

Around the 13 degree mark but every engine is different, the best way is to get your car tuned........
