Don't believe so, Geert - aside from the extra electronics, the new HID bulb is the same as a normal one, fitment wise.

Geert, I can vouch for the effectiveness (albeit, it wasn't dark )

Been out in an EVO IX with HID's and they are awesome.

If you don't want to spend 325 quid on a HID kit, spend 16.99 on a pair of Ring Sportz-Blue bulbs - they don't actually appear blue, but brilliant white, and are rated at 80/80 watt in H4 guise, and 80 watt in H1 guise

Always used them in all my headlamps, top bulbs

Just a point but don't you have to have some sort of headlamp levelling system for HID's to be legal or is this just for factory fit ones? Or aren't MOT stations clued-up enough to recognise what sort of lights you have?

are you all forgetting that HIDconversions need clear lenses without angles to split them beams to work correctly - they'd do a god aweful spread fitted to standard cossie lights - negating any benefit of fitting them.

oh and don't fit illegally powerful light bulbs that'd make you a tit

just invest in some half decent ring bulbs

I thought the Philips Visionplus and Osram Silverstar bulbs did better than the Ring ones in the tests?

The difference I have found is that they are a vast improvement over standard. I'd never go back to the old lights .

Not sure about MOT, I suppose I'll find out in June .
