and is there anywhere that do cheap straight cut 4 speed box kits,..

The best guys to speak to on this are HT Racing. They used to campaign many XR3 race cars. They do awesome heads and cams for the NA CVH - recall them getting 160bhp from an XR2 in a class that had to use the stock Carb which was known to be pretty poor.
Does anyone know if HT are still around?? You never hear of them these days!
