i managed to strip 3rd while laying down the power on a corner at brunters today

any idea what it will cost to get 3rd gear fixed?

was good to see the speedo going all the way round to 155 mph running 12psi aswell

il see if i can get my gears shot peened

to be honest you would be better off in buying a "brand new box" if you can afford it ...

it will last 10 times longer than a recon mainly because the metal is "new" and it won't be stressed like the old boxes

Metal fatiges/weakens as it get older thats why they break/let go

shot peening does help stressed metal


I'm sure Bernie will help you out mate and tell you your best option/route to go

I've looked but haven't seen any track days listed there as such this yr?

yep it was my rst and a gorop of us know the chap that runs the place and for a small fee and a select few can use the track for a couple of hours on sundays when available

lol marco i already have stg2 bernie box and 3rd gear got munched at only 12psi that must me 210 bhp at the most and it was only put in the car last august

 

not 2 sure on the stg2 box to be honest - just the std teeth i suppose just not up to the job.

think it would be better advertised as a stg 1+ or something as it doesnt seem to be up to the job you would expect one stage below the 2+ if you see what i mean!

time for a 2+ anyway mate!
