im looking to put a s2 heated front screen in my s1


problem is s1 tint is bronze and the s2 is green


would the green screen stick out a mile or are they really faint (if you know what i mean)

 

Try and get a couple of pics of a Series 1 & 2 sat next to each other mate, must be loads about!

I don't reckon you'd notice it too much!

 

I think you'd notice it tbh! It's like when people with S2's just fit S1 opening rear windows - But yea, see what you think

I wouldnt even change my screen in the FRS even though i think the heated screens are brilliant.

I've got S2 front and rear screens and S1 side windows, as long as you do both you won't notice it

 

dont do it mate...u can really tell when looking at the car from various angles!...a mate of mine has put bronze tint rear quarters on his s2...he reckons its fine and its WELL out LOL...its only when i park mine next to his does he realise how much better the right tint glass makes it look

im running no heaters so will need the heated screen. will be using plastic windows in the sides which you can get in green but only in pespex (dont wanna use this as it shatters big time) polycarbonate


is there any other tint available for a heated screen?

 

bronze rear quarters with the front windows in green does stand out, I hated the look of mine which is why I changed the front ones to bronze as well

 

You could have just got the green tint rear 1/4 glass mate ?

 

not for the price I got my bronze opening rears for

plus both bits of door glass were really scratched (looked like someone had poured sand in the rubbers ) so needed to replace them as well anyways

 

Me too, it will be blatantly obvious. Like all the new renaults you see about, that UV tint on the front window clashes very badly with all the other windows.

By any chance are you having your windows tinted? A light smoke all round should hide the bronze colour

I think you are getting a little confused....He is saying he changed the front windows to bronze to match the S1 opening windows (also bronze)

But you can get green tint opening rear 1/4 glass from Ford! Well, you used to, I got mine a couple years ago, (It is Ł50 a side) I believe you can get them from Autoglass too.

I changed my fronts to bronze as I thought it would look different to the green tint. Windscreen and back window are still green though and they do stand out in th eright conditions

Don't they do a plain clear windscreen that's heated?

 

Who's got a picture of a s1 / s2 side by side to see the difference in the bronze / green tint ?

 

Ive got an S2 rear screen, and when its been raining or frosty it sticks out like a sore thumb, can notice it in any other light aswell but not as bad really.
