considering norton is utter fucking wank

For 2 days now ive been fighting this virus, now it making the PC impossible to use

It pops up saying "norton could not block TROJAN.ADCLICKER" then i go in C drive and all these are there....





I delete them, run a scan and all is well, until 5 minutes later then its back

ANTONE?

 

have you tried spybot s&d m8...im posotive adclicker is one of the things it searches for

yup, i can remove it, what i need to do is stop the thing coming back every 5 minutes

 

Turn off your system restore as the virus is probably being stored in there!!! then delete and scan etc. Don't forget to switch it back on though (sys restore).

 

theres a code somewhere you need to remove...read the link above it will tell you

 

if you go to RUN on the start menu of xp and type in msconfig you might be able to stop it from booting on startup, you have to identify which process it is while your there, give it a try

Hi! Had a virus on my computer aswell this week just got it sorted and I had to take everything off it and start all over again, bit off a bummer as it was a local carsite that gave me the virus in the first place. Only found that out when we phoned up BT and they told us who it was so wont be using that site again int a hurry.

 

Dan i did exactly as symantec said and its still there!

Looks like my only option is another fresh fookin install

Im now back on a fresh install, forgot how fast this PC is when its not cluttered in shit

 

I like your style. I do a reinstall as soon as my pc starts to even think about slowing down. Althoug I haven't done one for a few months as my dad borrowed my windows cd and left it in france
