Default Fuel Mixture Screw

which way do i turn this to make the car run richer?

as it was at the mot station yesterday (just to let you know its a 91 mk5 shell with ERST engine) and it failed on emissions and the guy turned the mixture screw down, now the car runs like crap, so i need to turn it back a shade, just unsure of which way!

cheers fellas

well, i seen the amount he adjusted it by, and this guy knows his fords so i trust his expertise, so i turned it back by about an 8th of that, took it for a run, then the same etc etc, till it was runnin spot on,

gonna get a rollin road tune done when my clutch is sorted!
just dont wanna see it go pop in the mean time

you dont really wanna be playing with that and then driving it hard!
take it somewhere that can check and adjust it properly! get and wrong and the engine will melt
