old glow plug into a wooden broom handle with copper fuel pipe over the end wired onto a battery using crock clips is the best only power up untill hot then disconnect really good especislly for thicker cables

Exactly.

Car wiring you probably want something electric, and on the larger side. Gas is a good no power option, and does work quite well. Not so sure if you are working with the bigger cables though

I have loads of different ones. Different tools for different jobs to be honest.

I have a 25W electric, a 40W electric, a 75W electric, a 175W electric, a gas iron, small gas torch and a large gas torch. Then a few spares.

ive just got a few wires to do in the engine bay,ive got a gas one which isnt really powerfull enough and a fine point electric one for intricate work, but was thinking of one of the gun type ones that heat and cool very quickly?
