Default What fuel pump??

Spec:

rs 500 intercoller, dark greens, 3 bar map sensor, full exhaust, t 34 turbo , -31 actuator, baily breather system in to rocker cover, chip that goes to 24psi (cant remember make!)

its just had a full rebuild and is now run in, fitted new turbo last week and is getting set up at MSD next month but want to get a new fuel pump so less chance of melting a piston again!

shud i go 4 standard ful pump or do i need uprated??

im not wanting stupid amounts of psi, want it fast but reliable (as it can be for a stage 3 cossie!) LOL

any advice appreciated!

Grp A fuel pump, i think it's Bosch 044. Any cossie tuner should sort you out, MSD would probably sort you out when it's booked in for tune if you let them know.

Standard will be OK for greens - but check the condition of the wiring, or just replace it. Fit a new relay in the boot, using the original feed wire to switch the relay, and run a new wire straight from the battery to the pump via the relay.

Make sure you change the fuel filter.

Even when it's 15 years old?

Admittedly I'm running a standard pump on greens & T34, but only 'cos I don't have Ł200 spare for a Group A one, which is next on the Cossie shopping list when I have some spare cash.

Ok, was thinking new GPa pump vs leaving existing (old) pump on. New standard pump prolly a good idea, but how much less is this vs new GpA pump? I don't know, but if it ain't much...

think standard is just under 100 quid and group A about 180 quid!

not really bothered 2 much about the money as 80 quid diference nowt compared to the 2grand at least i spent on the engine in last year! but if dont need a group 1 one wud rather keep standard! dont wana over fuel! LOL

bought car of my lad and melted a piston the 2nd day after i insured it!

had full rebuild by a good m8, a brand new t34 turbo and am not thinking about the full new brakes, tyres, set up etc!!

shud kept me golf! LOL cossies well use up ya money!

Dont beat about the bush mate and just buy an 044 one, far better pump, and if your going for more power in the future you dont need to worry as they fuel for a good 400 to 450 bhp
